StepUp Medical Protection Plan 2
About The Scheme

If you are covered by HKU’s AIA Group Medical Insurance Scheme with hospitalisation benefits i.e., Plan 1-3, you and your eligible dependants may enrol in AIA StepUp Medical Protection Plan 2 (“StepUp 2”), an individual medical insurance policy designed to supplement your existing coverage and provide continued protection after retirement or departure from the University.
Staff members and their dependants may enroll in StepUp 2 either:
- During employment, to complement their existing group medical coverage with additional individual medical protection; or
- Upon cessation of employment and inpatient coverage under HKU’s AIA Group Medical Insurance Scheme, to maintain continued medical protection after leaving the University or retiring.
StepUp 2 enables eligible members to maintain medical protection beyond their employment with the University and may continue even after their group medical coverage ceases, subject to the policy terms and conditions.
