❔ Do I have to enrol?

To comply with legislative requirement, all appointees aged between 18 and 65 employed for 60 days or more MUST enrol in the HSBC MPF Scheme.

Please complete and submit the online MPF enrolment via the eMPF Platform (eMPF) as soon as possible, and in any case within a week upon notification from eMPF to avoid delays in making MPF contributions.

If you’re re-joining the University after a break of service, must submit a new MPF enrolment, even if you have an existing MPF account with HSBC from previous appointments at the University.

💡 Can I be exempted?

You can be exempted from the MPF Scheme if you hold an employment visa AND meet one of the following criteria:

The validity period of the employment visa granted by the Immigration Department does not exceed 13 months – you will be exempted automatically..

The validity period of the employment visa granted by the Immigration Department is more than or beyond the first 13 months, and you’re a member of a provident, pension, retirement or superannuation scheme established outside Hong Kong – complete the declaration form below and email HRO at mpfhro@hku.hk.
