Specialist Consultation
Upon prior approval from the UHS, specialist consultations, investigations or treatment in either Hospital Authority (HA) or private specialist clinics defined by the UHS are reimbursable. The current reimbursement rates per academic year are:

Maternity Care
Maternity care, including antenatal, delivery and postnatal care, as well as related investigations are reimbursable for you/your spouse under Regulations Governing The Staff Medical Benefits Scheme (SMBS) per academic year. For details, please refer to reimbursement schedule.
A normal delivery package (full package) includes all costs of antenatal care, postnatal care, laboratory tests (except amniocentesis), hospital maintenance for mother and new born, medications, delivery, anaesthesia, use of labour ward and management of any complications of pregnancy and delivery manageable by the obstetrician in the obstetric ward. Medical costs incurred not related to the pregnancy or delivery will not be reimbursed.
You are required to provide UHS with the original receipts pertaining to your pregnancy and delivery, along with the discharge slip. Each staff member is only eligible for one claim per maternity case, please gather all the receipts beforehand and submit them after the delivery. Reimbursement claims should be submitted within 3 months after delivery.
Hospitalization Coverage
Upon prior approval from the University Health Service (UHS), in-patient provisions in either Hospital Authority (HA) or a private hospital are reimbursable under Regulations Governing The Staff Medical Benefits Scheme (SMBS). For details, please refer to reimbursement schedule. The reimbursement coverage is current at HKD 400,000 per academic year.
