Self-pay dental scheme

About The Scheme

The University has appointed five outside dental groups to offer self-pay dental plans on preferential rates to students, staff and retirees, to supplement the existing dental services provided by the Dental Unit of the University Health Service. This self-pay dental scheme serves to provide an additional option for members in receiving dental treatment outside the campus, thereby giving more flexibility and quicker accessibility.

  • At least one scaling
  • Unlimited service for selected items
  • Exclusive discount for add-on items

Eligibility

This self-pay dental scheme is open to:
(a) Students;
(b) Staff eligible for primary care at the UHS and their immediate family;
(c) Retirees eligible for primary care at the UHS and their immediate family; and
(d) Departed staff on fixed term contract who have reached the age of 60 and have served the University for a consecutive 10 years or more, and their immediate family members*

*Immediate family refers to spouse and children. The dental groups agree to cover all children irrespective of whether they are defined as dependent children by the University.

The five outside dental groups, listed below, offer self-pay dental plan which covers oral examination, scaling and more, at a prepaid annual fee:

Application Forms and Procedures

This year’s dental plan will run from September 1, 2024 to August 31, 2025. Participation is voluntary. Members can choose to participate in any of the dental plans on offer. Staff and retirees can enroll for the plan on behalf of their family members. Applicants are required to complete the application form and pay the annual fee to the selected dental groups directly.
